The End of the Road

Well, this weekend marks the end of the road for Doug's schooling at Moody Bible Institute. It has been a long road with some bumps and potholes along the way, not to mention engine and transmission overhauls, and of course, the regular filling of the gas tank and oil changes. And it appears that I have been married to a mechanic for way too long when his lingo starts to seep into my metaphors. Anyway, Doug successfully finished his final paper with a whopping 18 pages and will drop it off at his professor's office tomorrow morning. It is quite surreal right now. I keep telling him good job, I'm proud of you, yay! you're finally done, etc., but somehow it just doesn't seem like he is actually done. Poor guy - he had bad dreams all last night of incomplete work and failing grades. I have been pretty amazed this past year as I have watched him tackle this goal while still being faithful in our family, in our church, and at work.

These last few weeks have been especially grueling as we have been going on very little sleep. The first priority over the next few days will be going to bed at a decent hour!

Tell Doug - Congratulations and job well done!

I for one am very impressed that he went back to school and was able to keep up with everything with a wife and three kids!

I hope you guys get to have some quality down time now that this is done. But, I guess that won't happen right away either as Doug is headed to CA!
