Praying for Others

One of the areas in my life where I am trying to make changes is in my prayer life. Prayer is one of those necessary things for the Christian that is so simple, yet so hard, and I have to admit that through the years my commitment to prayer has gone up and down. One thing that helps, especially when praying for others, is to use prayers that we find in scripture. I am going to try to post a passage a week for the next few weeks, so I'll start with the one passage that I have used more than any other for the past few years.

Colossians 1:9-12
For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
