In Other Parts of the House...

I meant to post about this before Abrielle arrived, but false labor signs kind of got in the way. The Friday before Annalisa finished first grade, she had an awards assembly at school. This was the morning after the kids had stayed at our friends' home because we really thought labor was going to kick in during the night (and it didn't). I suspected that Annalisa would be getting an award at school, so Doug picked up the kids and took Annalisa to the assembly while I waited at home thinking that labor was imminent.

Annalisa was honored with receiving the Principal's Award. She received this certificate and a little pin. She was so excited to get an award, but I don't think she understood how significant it was. It was a special way for her to end the year.

This was Annalisa's last year at the Oaks. We made the decision many months ago that we will homeschool the girls in the fall. We never dreamed that Annalisa would ever be able to attend a classical Christian school and we have been blessed by her time there. Although we will miss the school greatly, we felt this was the best time to transition to homeschooling. Annalisa is excited about staying home with Mommy, although Alyssa was more than a little disappointed to not have Annalisa's kindergarten teacher next year. If you knew this lady, you would be disappointed, too!

So good to see some pics of your family today, Anna. Thanks for the email too. I am thankful for your prayers and encouragement.
Hope you are settling in well with your new routines, and that your travels go well.
We hoped to do a bunch of entertaining this summer, but I don't know how much I will be able to accomplish - some days it's hard enough just to get myself and Gabriel dressed. If nothing else, hopefully we'll see you all at church. I want to see Abrielle's cheeks again. :)
Blessings, Melissa
