My Latest Favorite Psalm

One of the things that we really enjoy about our church here in Spokane is that we sing Psalms. They are usually more of a paraphrase than a true translation mostly to fit it in with musical meter. Last month we learned Psalm 133 and the music is really gorgeous. Here are the words taken directly from the New King James translation:

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!
It is like the precious oil upon the head,
Running down on the beard,
The beard of Aaron,
Running down on the edge of his garments.
It is like the dew of Hermon,
Descending upon the mountains of Zion;
For there the LORD commanded the blessing -
Life forevermore.

I have to admit that there is a lot about this Psalm that I do not get, but the more I learn about worship in the Old Testament, the more sense this Psalm makes. And thanks to singing this in church, I now have another portion of scripture hidden in my heart.

You are a stinker. Hey, this is supposed to be a blog for my lady friends. Thanks to your comment, I was reminded why I didn't invite boys and now I might have to moderate comments! AAAARGHHH!

Anyway, I thought you were citing Deuteronomy 14:26 (I obviously don't have it memorized).

Hey this reminds me of the letters you used to send me while I was at summer camp.

Even though you're a stinker, I still love you and miss you.

And I think I am going to delete your comment. :)

And if you are checking comments, I am off to bed where I should be since I've been struck by allergies.
