Easter, 2008

We had a full weekend celebrating Easter. Annalisa didn't have class on Friday, so we took some time to dye eggs. Friday evening we attended our church's Good Friday service.

Saturday we tried to get ahead on Sunday preparations and that evening we headed to my midwife's home for an Easter celebration. There were 26 of us and we had some awesome lamb - the best I have ever tasted - and read scriptures about Christ's suffering, death, resurrection, and appearance to his disciples. My midwife's parents started doing this about 30 years ago and she and her family have carried on the tradition. She always invites Christians and non-Christians. She was quite disappointed because this was the first celebration she can remember that no non-Christians were present. The non-Christian family she invited backed out at the last minute.

The girls in their pretty new dresses from Grandma.

Annalisa was so excited to hold her brother for this picture.

Sunday morning we celebrated Christ's resurrection by worshiping at church. The funny thing is that Alyssa told my parents today that we went to church on Friday night because we didn't have time to go on Sunday! What a nut! I prepared a feast for our Easter dinner and we invited some new friends over from church. I am just bummed I didn't get a picture of their family.

Hey Anna,

I'm so glad that you have started this blog. I love seeing your family pictures. Little Andrew is getting so big. How much does he weigh now?

Wow, my Andrew has lost 45 lbs. Your Andrew is packing them on.

We miss your family dearly.

Hi, Bekah! We miss you guys, too. Wow, Andrew has lost 45 pounds! My little Andrew is about 15 pounds now and my right shoulder and the right side of my neck and back feel it. I will post another picture of him today. He is a sweet little guy and seems really laid back.
